Marvin the Martian is BIG this year as Air Jordan plasters this favorite alien’s face all over their brand. Bugs Bunny’s perpetual nemesis, Air Jordan honors Marvin with his very own namesake kicks, using the beloved character’s signature colors.
Air Jordan 7 Marvin The Martian
Color:Black/University Red-Green Pulse-Cool Grey
Release Date:August 15, 2015
sneakereasy.com has released an image of the Marvin the Martian shoes under the Air Jordan 7 silhouette. It was actually announced months in advance and finally – it is just a matter of weeks before the shoes actually hit the shelves.
The shoes are a beautiful, eye-catching combination of black, red, and a hint of green – the same colors sported by Marvin, of course. The base is mainly black, covering most of the shoes from the trim to the heels. The tongue is a vibrant red, loudly crashing with the black laces and the leather-like texture of the main body. The soles are also done in the same shade of tongue-red with an itty bitty green in the center of the soles. There is also some green along the heels and the Air Jordan words are printed in the same shade on the tongue center. Needless to say, Marvin the Martian screams loud and proud its affiliation with the hottest luxury sports shoes in the market today.
Moving on with the design, the different Air Jordan logos are obviously present. Other than the “Jordan Air” print, the Jump Man logo is prominent along the side, placed in stitched red against the black leather background so there is no doubt that it stands out. On the heels, you have got the number “23” beautifully embossed in red with a hint of green against the black backdrop. The interior is a combination of black and red as well but that is not something you have to worry about.
Once you get to the underside of the shoes, you will be blasted with a full spectrum of colors. It is a little perplexing why the Air Jordan 7 Marvin the Martian is designed with a colorful bottom considering how it won’t actually be prominent when worn. Still – that’s Nike’s style and we’re giving designers their creative leeway. The bottom portion is a combination of red, orange, green, and the Jump Man logo. A little bit of silver can also be traced along the midsole which somehow lend the shoes with a futuristic look.
