The year 2016 is just days away and right now, Jordan heads are looking forward to the year when the first Jordan Brand retro collection would be welcomed – the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate 89”.
Air Jordan 4 Alternate’89
Release Date:January 2, 2016
Right on its footing, Jordan Brand will welcome the year by releasing one of its most esteemed collection of Air Jordans, the Air Jordan 4. But given the many original release that never really made it, JB is now rectifying their decision and will be showing off their legendary silhouette and will make it available right into the retail market.
If you do not have any idea of what the Air Jordan 4 “Alternate 89” looks like, Sneaker News provided quite a graphic detail of it to tease your imagination. Just picture a shoe with the Bulls colorway of friendly white, red, and a touch of black for accents and branding details.
But so as not to make your imagination suffer, the first official images of the Alternate ’89 Jordan were released 4 days before we say bye to 2015 and its every bit as classic and typical of Air Jordan 4s.
Early this year, the news that Jordan Brand will be releasing three sets of Air Jordan Retro “Alternate” collection hit the web and sneaker fans have been waiting ever since to see such a collection. Nevertheless, JB decided to make the collection even more coveted by collectors by athletes alike by designing the Alternates as Player Exclusives.
As a nod to the Chicago Bulls “Home” colors during their early days in the year 1989, which earned the pair its moniker, the AJ4 Alternate ’89 will be sporting a full and smooth premium tumbled upper in White leather with Gym Red as well as black accents all throughout. As for accents, the Gym Red stands out more than the black given that it graces the outsole, midsole, and parts of the upper base’s mesh and lining. The word “Flight” on the tongue and the “Alternate 89” found on the back pull tab is also done in red which is tasteful and stark against the white backdrop.
The Jumpman branding takes over the black color and is found on the shoes’ tongue atop the “Flight” inscription and the heel which is the customary place for the Jumpman logo.
The official Jordan release date of the Air Jordan 4 Alternate ’89 is slated on January 2 next year and will be in simultaneous release with the Jordan Melo M12, which will be Carmelo Anthony’s newest sneaker yet.
