It seems you have to earn a little more than the average if you want to afford the newest Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium.
Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium
Release Date:March 26, 2016
With a tag price of $400 a pair, the newest retro release for the Jordan releases 2016 deserves its price well. Why not, the Jordan 4 Retro Premium – once dubbed the “Pinnacle” – features 24K real gold accents. Its solid and stylish construction makes it more than a lifestyle shoe, it also one of the best performance shoes that you can take on the hard court.
Last year, sneakereasy.com provided detailed pictures of the Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium and it is without a doubt one of the best shoes to be had from the line of Jordan Brand’s premium releases this year. On a first look, the shoes sport a combination of luxurious black leather upper with full-grain and multi-textured panels in stylish croc design.
Up close, the black upper and white outsole combination of the AJ4 Retro Premium gives the pair a nice clean look. On the one hand, the monochromatic black construction of the leather upper and textured mudguard panel is something that Jordan Brand has utilized with its sneakers from the past two years. Other notable features of the Premium Air Jordan 4 Retro is the faux pony hair found on the sides of the shoe and running the length of the shoe tongue as well in place of the conventional mesh netting. There is also the waxed shoelaces and the embossed exotic skin on the collar is even more pronounced, especially on the heel tabs and the laces.
With regards to the branding, Jordan Brand took a subtle approach at placing a Jumpman logo on the tongue also dressed in black. What makes the said logo different is that it’s reflective so you get to see when the light bounces on it a certain way. The same Jumpman logo can be found on the heels and an outline of it graces the outsole of the shoes.
Overall, the Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium looks traditional with the iconic silhouette of the Air Jordan 4 but it is way beyond the traditional look of the AJ4s with its custom features. What’s more, JB didn’t stop right at designing the shoe. They also made the pair a unique shoe box with a blacked out Jumpman, a Flight branding on the lid, and elegant subtle elephant prints. Aside from that, a second set of laces will also be made available for the pair so fans and sneaker heads who’d want to have the new Air Jordan 4 Retro Premium as part of their collection will definitely get their money’s worth.
